STIPPLING Felt Tip Pen
Stippling is a technique where the artist uses a 0.2mm felt tip pen to create tiny dots. To create shading we add more dots in a particular area. This technique is best used for nature subjects as it captures patterns perfectly. Not suitable for portraits.
ABSTRACT (LINES) Brush Markers
Lines are a way of creating minimalist artworks. The thickness of the line varies by the marker I decide to use. This technique is often used to create abstract figure representations or just general expressionist artworks. The brush markers are often black but can be changed to suit your style.
REALISTIC GRAPHITE
Graphite is something we all used when we first started to learn how to draw. It is the most versatile medium available to create smooth textures as well as rough. Professional black and white watercolour pencils help intensify the contrast. This technique is best suited for portraits.
ABSTRACT (WATERCOLOUR)
The watercolours that are used are high quality Japanese Mijello Watercolours. These watercolours are commended for their lightfastness, however I personally recommend to avoid leaving watercolour artworks away from direct sunlight. I like to use this medium when I try to capture the flowy nature of my subject. Due to the properties of watercolour, this allows me to create wonderful pieces that highlight unique texture and movement. This technique is good for low detail representations of nature.
